Finally, after months of speculation, it has been officially confirmed that the once Batman actor, Christian Bale will be playing a villain character in the next Thor movie. His character, in terms of who exactly he is going to be playing was not disclosed, but indeed he has been said to be playing a villain. This came by way of interview with Tessa Thompson through Entertainment Weekly.
Some familiar faces, some new people into the mix… Christian Bale is going to play our villain, which is going to be fantastic.
She also went ahead to disclose at least some part of what the villain will be like, saying he will be “alien and otherworldly.” Other rumors had pointed to his character being somewhat earthly, likely like the character “The Minotaur,” but this has been denied. The spread on the villains he’s likely play is large and it makes it quite a bit hard to pinpoint who he could be.
The general tone of Thor’s movies hasn’t been that bad, but the more serious note changing to a light-hearted one has seen a general success in the box office. Thor: Love and Thunder is likely to follow in the same thread. Exploring the life of the God of Thunder after the events of Endgame. It’s already been confirmed Tessa Thompson will come back to reprise the role of Vulkarie and Natalie Portman would be Thor’s love interest. Director Taika Watiti will be directing the movie again and going with the same style he accentuated in Thor: Ragnarok.
We are likely going to see a slight change in tone since the events after Endgame have changed a lot, but it’s going to be an interesting development since Thor had a drastic change in Endgame.
