You might want to sit down. This deepfake is about the dark knight. Not the one you’re used to, the upcoming Dark Knight, Robert Pattinson. If you’re into the idea of imagining Robert Pattinson playing as Batman you should quench some of that thirst with this one. In this short, he’s introduced as the original Dark Knight from Christian Bale’s performance and the mashup is scarily good. You can imagine Robert Pattinson playing the role from the short performance and it works! Well, the voice is selling this one short, but it’s negligible nevertheless.
If you’ve never seen one, you probably need to know that deepfakes are just short clips where people merge one person’s face with another person’s to act as thought it was them. There are tons of them all over the internet and it’s mostly effective where people anticipate, or least expect, to be shocked by it.

In this case, Robert Pattinson is set to play Batman in the next installment of the caped crusader, and there is no clip of him anywhere on the internet. It’s a good opportunity for someone to swoop in and give something to imagine what his character would be like. Something like this deepfake. At least it can give some perspective of him in character and model what people may think could happen. I believe Matt Reeves could be working on references like the Dark Knight films and Pattinson could be doing the same in preparation for his role.
It won’t be soon until we get the Batman film, but in the meantime it looks like the internet is fascinated by the prospect of the former Twilight actor playing the caped crusader. From where I’m sitting it looks like he might nail his role.
